Ryan Greenwood has 10 years of community, political, and labor organizing experience. Currently he serves as the Political Director of TakeAction Minnesota. TakeAction Minnesota unites 32 progressive organizations and 4,000 individual members in the fight for racial, economic, and social justice in Minnesota through elections, organizing, and policy work. In addition to electing progressives to office TakeAction Minneosta is leading major campaigns for universal healthcare and voting rights.
Ryan led coalitions that passed living wage laws in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. He also led weeklong trainings for all the DFL State House and State Senate Organizers in 2004 & 2006. Ryan planned and executed a program that in 2006 and 2007 elected 61 of our 68 endorsed candidates including 13 of 14 in the most competitive legislative districts in the state where we knocked on 80,000 doors. Ryan started and expanded a door to door electoral and fundraising canvass. In addition to TakeAction Minnesota, Ryan served as Executive Director of Progressive Minnesota and an organizer for Progressive Maryland and the United Electrical Workers (UE). Ryan was born and raised in Owatonna, Minnesota and attended college at Macalester in Saint Paul.
