David McGonagle serves as the deputy training director and job bank coordinator for EMILY's List where he works to match the campaigns of Pro-Choice Democratic Women with talented political operatives.
While with EMILY's List, Dave was able to spend last fall working for EMILY's List candidates Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-4), and Inez Tenenbuam. In Wisconsin, David managed the voter file and ran the persuasion program that helped in Gwen Moore's primary victory, helping her to become the first African-American elected to congress from WI. In the general election, David served as the GOTV director for Inez Tenenbaum's U.S. Senate Campaign in South Carolina.
Prior to joining EMILY's List, David spent most of 2003 and some of 2004 in New Hampshire as a regional field director with New Hampshire for Health Care, a project of SEIU. Before moving to New Hampshire, David worked with Progressive Minnesota, organizing St. Paul community and union members to pass a school board resolution allowing school bus drivers a fair chance at organizing. David got his start in politics by working for the Wellstone for Senate campaign in 2002 where he served as the field director for the 2nd congressional district.
