As a strategic consultant, Jennifer has been advising businesses and non-profit organizations for over a decade. Her consulting work has ranged from small start up businesses to Fortune 100 companies like Intel, Medtronic, Preferred One, Nike, Goldman Sachs, PetSmart, and P.F. Changs. In the consulting industry, Jennifer gained a reputation of being a strategic process expert. She designed
Executive Alignment Workshops for c-level executives that included a bottom-up philosophy with seven generation thinking that mapped the total landscape of an organization and their strategic planning process for the e-economy. In addition, she has over eight years direct experience in the financial services industry. As the Chief Operating Officer of the Minneapolis Financial Group, Jennifer managed a local franchise of the Fortune 100, MassMutual Financial Group with 150 associates serving more than 30,000 clients and over $5 Billion of assets. She earned national recognition for her successful achievements five years in a row while regularly being awarded an invitation to the annual Leaders Conference. She traveled around the country training other MassMutual Firms on development and how to implement her operating systems and strategies for growth.
After much reflection, Jennifer followed her personal passion and Indianpreneur spirit to develop a small firm with a "wholistic" approach to planning and founded Heritage Strategic Group, LLC in the fall of 2006. The firm works with non-profits and small businesses using traditional planning methods to promote strategy and implement systems and programs for sustainable financial independence. Most recently, Jennifer took a hiatus from consulting and served on Chief Executive Marge Anderson of the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe Cabinet as her Commissioner of Community Development.
As a Standing Rock Lakota that grew up in a small town of 295 people in central Minnesota, Jennifer was the first in her family to go to college and went on to earn her Bachelor Degree of Social Work at St. Cloud State University, Master Degree of Business Administration with an emphasis on executive management at Augsburg College, and is pursuing her doctorate of psychology at St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
