The NVAM is a Minnesota Native voter mobilization program founded by the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and Prairie Island Indian Community in 2004. From their organization, the Get Out the Native Vote (GOTNV) campaign was a huge success, involving voter rights and trainings prior to election. GOTNV is acknowledged as the "Minnesota Model" of Native vote campaigns for the rest of the nation.
