At Wellstone Action! we're always looking for examples of
candidates who have tried to bring community organizing tactics to their
campaigns. Nowadays, the Obama Presidential Campaign is perhaps the
best example. Obama has made an unprecedented investment in on-the-ground
organization, and has in the process cultivated well-trained and highly
motivated volunteers. A number of articles have recently examined this, and

Campus Camp Wellstone trains students nationwide on how to run energized, community building, winning campaigns. We focus on campus and community organizing and young voter engagement.

graduates in a week-long Campaign
School, and then puts
them to work on the last three months of a targeted Democratic campaign.

become progressive leaders and connect with other progressives to from strong
movements for the future.

When we receive your application, we will contact you to learn more about your specific training needs. We'll also help you develop a plan to recruit students for the training and provide more information on the logistics of holding a camp.
We teach our curriculum through case study campaigns, allowing students to apply the skills as they learn. Camp organizers chose the specific case study to be used at their campus.
Campus Camp Wellstone is a 1.5 day training program held on college and university campuses around the country. Our program is non-partisan, and welcomes both seasoned activists and those who are completely new to progressive activism.
As progressives, we know we can find better leaders. We are looking for
leaders who can restore hope, empower citizens, and be effective voices
for change.
