Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence
The recipient of the Outstanding Organization Award is the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a non-profit organization that works on behalf of 69 community-based domestic violence advocacy agencies in Washington. We chose to award WSCADV not only for the exemplary work of the organization itself, but for that of their Executive Director, Nan Stoops. Ms. Stoops has work in the anti-violence movement as an advocate, trainer, and organizer for more than 30 years. She was also the Associate Director of the Faith Trust Initiative and a Founding Member of INCITE! Women of Color Against Violence.
