Camp Sheila Wellstone is coming to the Mille Lacs community! Sponsored by Native Vote Alliance Minnesota and Camp Sheila Wellstone, this non-partisan voter engagement training is for: advocates, survivors, coordinated community response members, SART members, Board members or community allies working to end domestic and sexual violence.
The Sheila Wellstone Institute has developed its own unique training program called Camp Sheila Wellstone, specifically aimed at survivors and advocates working to end domestic and sexual violence. Camp Sheila Wellstone Voter Engagement School will assist advocates to:
- Understand barriers to domestic and sexual assault survivor voting rights
- Obtain a "survivor tool-kit" for citizen activism and voter engagement
- Strengthen skills of advocates in the area of community organizing, coalition building, social change advocacy, and leadership development
